When you purchase a yak blanket you are not only getting one of the warmest, softest, most beautiful blankets in the world you are stimulating the ecconomy of remote small villages!    Natural disaster has left many amazing villages in the Himalyian Mountains cut off from their major source of income, tourism, stimulating a stagnant ecconomy is so important now.  The money they earn from selling a blanket provides them the opportunity to puchase a cow, goat, crops, shelter, schooling, and so much more.  These villages are located high in the spectacular Himalyan Mountains in elevations as high as 16,000+ ft.

HOW CAN I HELP?

     Dawa, Doma, and their two children are survivors of the 2015 earthquake(s)!  Dawa who has been leading treks into the Himalayan Mountains for the past 22 years, well needless to say was jobless.  Their home was also deemed no longer livable and they found themselves homeless.  After spending several months in a tent, through the good will donations of some former trekkers/friends Dawa and Doma were able to rent a home.

     Dawa has joined me in a marketing plan to help the people of Nepal.  A percentage of the proceeds from your purchasing a blanket will go to pay for Doma and Dawa's children to go to school this.  We are also planning a Trek to Mt. Everest Base camp in the Spring of 2016 and on the way up we will be volunteering to help with the needs of a school in the Himalayn Mountains.
