When you purchase a yak blanket you are not only getting one of the warmest, softest, most beautiful blankets in the world you are stimulating the ecconomy of remote small villages!    Natural disaster has left many amazing villages in the Himalyian Mountains cut off from their major source of income, tourism, stimulating a stagnant ecconomy is so important now.  The money they earn from selling a blanket provides them the opportunity to puchase a cow, goat, crops, shelter, schooling, and so much more.  These villages are located high in the spectacular Himalyan Mountains in elevations as high as 16,000+ ft.

Testimonials:

Tanja Schermann -Australia

Back in April we ventured off what I believed is to be going an awesome trip.  But what I experienced and seen was more than words can even nearly describe. Dawa our tour guide was the best you can ever wish for. His drive to get all of us to basecamp, his knowledge of his country, his down to earth approach in dealing with all the different and interesting characters but all of the above his calm and patient nature made this an unforgettable adventure. Topping it all off was the breathtaking sight, the lovely Nepalese people, especially the gorgeous little kids and the super yummy Dal bhat. I can only recommend it for anyone's bucket list.

Happy tracking! ;)  Take care lovely

The story behind Night in Nepal

It was a few years ago when a team of thirteen of us were lead through the most spectacular beautiful Himalyan Mountains to Mtn. Everst Base Camp by Dawa Pun and Krishna Pun.  The trek began on April 11th Nepal's New year, we flew into Lukla airport for an adventure of a life time.

The people of Nepal have a way of capturing your heart.  The generous food they prepared for you, always greeted kindly with a Namaste, offering up what they have to you, it's very beautiful.   The men and women working so hard to provide the best life for their children and to be able to send them to school.   Trekking 13 days, in such great beauty and simplicity, is an experience like none other.

Many of the small remote villages surving mostly by means from tourism I knew when the eathquake occured in Nepal - Natural disastor was just the begining.  Connected to these villages of Nepal by an intimate trekking experience and our trekking guides personal distress lead me to the path of "Night in Nepal".

It began on Facebook with the concern of was Dawa and Krishna ok after the earthquake...Krishna Pun was safe and Dawa Pun, my guide/friend from the two week trek in the Himalayian Mountains, home was deamed unliveable after the first earthquake April 25th 2015.  Dawa, his wife and two small children were safe.  As a trekking guide to tourist he is jobless.  Shortly after the first quake Dawa's wife needed surgery and he ask for our prayers in a message on facebook.  Only one day after surgery, they were on the 9th floor of the hospital when the second major quake hit Kathmandu on May 12th, 2015.  Scrambling down from the 9th floor they made it out safely and were placed in a tent outside the hospital for the next three days.  Some surgeries were preformed in cars outside the hospital as well.

The most surprising thing is now amongst Dawa's tragedy he is liking my swallow post on facebook and I am wondering Why?  I keep waking up with dreams about how Nepal is "In the state of Balance" (I even had to look up the definition-with the fate or outcome about to be determined).  It's not just Charity they need they need to move the inventory of goods they have to sell, because there is no tourism.  Jobs need to be created, so the children can go to school.  So if we could move inventory we could create a flow again.

My life became busy again with work.  Then when I thought I had escaped the grip of needing to do something about it, Dawa goes on Linked-in and endorses me for Marketing, (perhaps a fluke).   Two days later Dawa endorses me on Linked in for Online Marketing (now not a fluke).   This is a man who is jobless, homeless, and doesn't have internet!  I know I have to come up with a plan, but what?  Until tourism can flow, why not bring a part of Nepal here.  What could we bring that would be unique?  Awake I find myself wrapped Linus style in my Blanket from Nepal.  That's it Yak Wool Blankets from Nepal.   The 12 blankets that I brought back and gave away as gift are considered treasures for the few that received them.  All pets love them!   Rare, warm, beautiful Yak blankets and Call it Night in Nepal...Sleep well!

Hi Dawa,

You and your family are in my thoughts and heart. How are you doing? I have been thinking about the decline in tourism to your country and was thinking about it from a marketing persepctive. I was wondering about your thoughts on exporting products they may be not able to sell in the villages. I was hoping you could help me develop a plan. smile emoticon:).   We could put together a team to make it happen. Please advise you thoughts.

Kind Regards,

Eileen
